Ola CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal has recently revealed his plans on X.com (formerly Twitter) to venture into the AI sector dominated by tech giants like OpenAI and Google.
As the CEO of the established car service and electric scooter manufacturing firm, Ola Cabs and Ola Electric, Aggarwal hints at further enhancing his company’s portfolio by introducing an AI chat application, “Krutrim”.
Introduction to Krutrim
Aggarwal unveiled ‘Krutrim’, which was registered as a company early this year under the name ‘Kutim SI Designs’. Unlike his other companies, Krutrim does not have Ola branding under its name. The CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, also asked his followers on X.com to share their desired features in an AI.
Incentives for Ideas
For product innovation, he proposed an incentivized reward scheme to encourage more outstanding suggestions. The best innovative idea would be rewarded with a free Ola S1x+ Scooter. The CEO also claimed that the interesting ideas will be integrated into the company’s product roadmap.
Future of AI According to Aggarwal
“The AI revolution is happening fast and it will propel human productivity, accelerate science and discovery. We humans can finally aspire to be free from doing jobs that a computer can do and truly expand the frontiers of knowledge and creativity. And with India’s unique cultural ethos of seeking and metaphysical exploration, along with technological and economic advancement, India can become the global leader for this future of AI!,” Aggarwal said in another tweet.

AI as a Force for Cultural Assimilation
During his dialogue with spiritual leader Sadhguru, Aggarwal emphasized the importance of building an Indian AI paradigm for the Indian ecosystem, economy, and entrepreneurs. He highlighted that AI is going to be a ‘very strong force for cultural assimilation’.
Aggarwal suggested that India needs its very own AI similar to LLMs (ChatGPT, Bard, and Claude). These LLMs are trained on non-Indian data which emphasizes the fact that Indian AI should be trained in several ‘Bharatiya languages’, Aggarwal further stated.
