Britain based tech company Nothing is gearing up to unveil its next mid-range smartphone, the Nothing Phone (2a), at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona on February 27, 2024. Led by former OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei, Nothing made waves in the tech world with its first phone launch just two years ago.
Now, they’re inviting the public to an event titled “Nothing to See,” scheduled from 26-29 February, which may set phone enthusiasts buzzing about what new products Nothing could be launching on the big stage.
So what can we expect from this new mid-range phone? Here’s a rundown of the rumors so far:
Some Design Tweaks
Reliable tech leakers have shared images of what appears to be a prototype of the Nothing Phone (2a). It features Nothing’s signature transparent back showing the phone’s inner workings but with a horizontally aligned camera module instead of a vertical one. The redesigned back also has a potentially refreshed Glyph light interface. The overall size and shape look similar to the Nothing Phone 2.
Decent Specifications
Under the hood, the Nothing Phone (2a) is rumored to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor with 8GB of RAM. These specs are not mind-blowing but are solid for a mid-range device. The display is expected to be a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
In terms of cameras, leaked specs point to a dual rear setup of a 50MP main camera and an ultra-wide lens. The front may house a 32MP selfie camera.

Pricing and Availability
Rumors point the pricing of the Nothing Phone (2a) to be around $400. With this price tag, it could seriously undercut its mid-range competitors. As for availability, it’s expected to launch first in Europe. North American release details are still unclear.
New Wallpapers
Something as small as new wallpaper presets can generate buzz these days. Apparently, Nothing has some cool abstract designs lined up for the Phone (2a), with leaked names like “Ruxe,” “Nexul,” and “Ambra.”
Looking Ahead
In just two years, Nothing has made a name for itself with its first two smartphones. The quirky Phone 1 and its glowing Glyph interface won over critics and consumers alike on a modest budget. The Phone 2 delivered noteworthy upgrades while keeping costs down.
Now they’re preparing to launch the Nothing Phone 2a as the next generation. Beyond the Phone 2a, Nothing’s flagship Phone 3 may also debut in select regions later on.
Final Words
As the tech world waits to see what Nothing unveils, the anticipation builds for the upcoming Nothing Phone 2a. Until then, we’ll have to stay tuned for official details directly from Nothing soon!
