Nvidia is rolling out DLSS 4.5 updates that it says boost image quality and performance for RTX games, alongside new GeForce driver and NVIDIA app updates announced around CES 2026. The company is also launching a new display feature called G-SYNC Pulsar, with the first compatible monitors arriving January 7.

The biggest DLSS 4.5 addition is “6X Dynamic Multi Frame Generation.” Nvidia says it will automatically adjust the frame-rate multiplier to help target smooth 240+ FPS, 4K, path-traced gameplay on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, and it is planned to release in spring.

DLSS 4.5: what’s new

Nvidia says DLSS 4.5 introduces a second-generation transformer model for DLSS Super Resolution, designed to improve image quality. The company also says the new DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution is available now through the NVIDIA app.

Nvidia also highlights that DLSS 4, first introduced at CES 2025, uses transformer-based Super Resolution and Multi Frame Generation and now supports more than 250 games and apps. Separately, Nvidia says more than 800 games and applications include RTX technologies.

How to turn on DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution

Nvidia says GeForce RTX owners can upgrade supported games and apps to DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution using the NVIDIA app. The company says this requires a new NVIDIA app beta update, and it adds that a full release is scheduled for January 13.

Inside the NVIDIA app, Nvidia describes using DLSS Override options to apply model presets globally or on a per-game basis. Nvidia also says users can choose the “Latest” option under Model Presets.

Nvidia adds that the app can adjust DLSS scaling quality globally or per title. It also says the app can enable DLAA in games that do not offer the setting in their own menus.

Game Ready Driver and NVIDIA app updates

Alongside the DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution options, Nvidia says NVIDIA app 11.0.6 beta adds additional NVIDIA Surround settings, including bezel correction and hotkeys. For laptops with Advanced Optimus, Nvidia says the app can now show full application names that block activation.

Nvidia also says a Debug Mode option can temporarily disable overclocking and voltage adjustments until the next restart, which it describes as a way to help troubleshoot system instability. In addition, Nvidia says NVIDIA Broadcast version 2.1 improves the Virtual Key Light effect, including performance updates that make it available for GeForce RTX 3060 GPUs and higher, along with expanded controls for lighting and color temperature.

DLSS and path tracing updates for new games

Nvidia says it is working with developers to add more DLSS and RTX technology integrations, including path tracing upgrades for upcoming titles. The company highlights several games in its CES 2026 announcements.

Nvidia says 007 First Light will launch May 27 and include DLSS 4 on PC. Nvidia also says Capcom’s PRAGMATA is being upgraded with path tracing, and it points to a ray-traced PRAGMATA Sketchbook demo available on Steam that it says previews a game launch on April 24.

Nvidia says Resident Evil Requiem is set for worldwide release on February 27 and will include DLSS 4 and path-traced effects. It also says Phantom Blade Zero will launch September 9, 2026, and will include day-one DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation plus additional ray-traced effects, including reflections, shadows, and caustics.

G-SYNC Pulsar monitors launch January 7

Nvidia says the next generation of G-SYNC begins with G-SYNC Pulsar, which it describes as pairing variable refresh rate with variable frequency backlight strobing. Nvidia says the goal is to reduce motion blur while keeping gameplay stutter-free.

Nvidia says the first G-SYNC Pulsar monitors from Acer, AOC, ASUS, and MSI will be available starting January 7 at 6AM PT. It also says prices start at $599 in the United States.

Nvidia says the first wave of Pulsar displays will be 27-inch 2560×1440 IPS monitors rated for 360Hz with 500 nits peak brightness in HDR. The company also says these models include G-SYNC Ambient Adaptive Technology, which it describes as using a built-in light sensor to automatically tune brightness and color temperature.

Nvidia adds that it collaborated with MediaTek so G-SYNC technologies can be integrated into the display scaler. Nvidia says this streamlines production and helps bring G-SYNC to more displays faster.
