The Apple March 2026 event delivered a massive hardware refresh, introducing a diverse lineup of new devices. Throughout a busy week of product launches, the technology giant unveiled the all-new MacBook Neo, a revamped iPhone 17e, and an updated iPad Air featuring the M4 processor. The company also showcased its next-generation silicon with new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models powered by the M5, M5 Pro, and M5 Max chips. Alongside these core devices, new Studio Display monitors were announced.

This product revamp highlights a clear strategy to address the entry-level market and the high-end artificial intelligence sector. By leveraging components already in mass production, Apple is challenging affordable Windows and ChromeOS alternatives. Simultaneously, the M5 processor family demonstrates a strong focus on advanced artificial intelligence capabilities. These updated chips are specifically designed to handle intensive AI tasks, making the hardware significantly more capable for both everyday consumers and technical professionals.

The All-New Budget-Friendly MacBook Neo

One of the most significant announcements from the Apple March 2026 event is the introduction of the MacBook Neo. Starting at a highly competitive price of $599, this laptop revives the company’s focus on the budget-friendly computer market. Diverging from the M-series chips found in other Mac computers, the MacBook Neo is powered by the A18 Pro iPhone processor, which was first introduced two years ago with the iPhone 16 series.

Designed with a 13-inch screen, the MacBook Neo features 8GB of RAM and offers 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. The laptop retains premium features like a Magic Keyboard, a multi-touch trackpad, and a 1080p camera. It provides USB-C ports, a headphone jack, and side-firing speakers supporting spatial audio and Dolby Atmos. The MacBook Neo comes in multiple colors including silver and citrus, each with a matching keyboard.

MacBook Air Upgraded With M5 Silicon

The popular MacBook Air lineup received a substantial performance upgrade with the integration of the brand-new M5 chip. Available in a 13-inch model starting at $1,099 and a 15-inch model starting at $1,299, the new laptops boast impressive artificial intelligence capabilities. According to the company, these M5-equipped machines can handle AI tasks up to four times faster than their immediate M4 predecessors.

Beyond the processor upgrade, the new MacBook Air doubles the base storage capacity of previous generations, starting at 512GB. Users get up to 18 hours of battery life. The laptops feature a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera for video calls, a three-microphone array, and a Spatial Audio sound system. The design retains MagSafe charging, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, and a 3.5mm jack. Consumers can purchase the updated MacBook Air in sky blue, midnight, starlight, and silver.

High-Performance MacBook Pro for Professionals

For technical users, developers, and artificial intelligence researchers, the new MacBook Pro models deliver unprecedented processing power. These flagship laptops are equipped with the newly announced M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, which utilize a groundbreaking Fusion Architecture. This advanced design merges two separate dies into a single, high-performance system on a chip. The processors feature an 18-core CPU configuration, consisting of six high-performance super cores and 12 performance cores. This setup boosts overall performance by up to 30 percent for professional workloads.

The M5 Pro and M5 Max chips process large language model prompts up to four times faster than the M4 equivalents. They also generate artificial intelligence images up to eight times faster than M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. The laptops deliver twice the read and write storage performance of the previous generation. Base storage begins at 1TB for the M5 Pro and 2TB for the M5 Max. Battery life reaches 24 hours, and a 96W adapter charges the laptop to 50 percent in 30 minutes. The machines feature Thunderbolt 5 connectivity and a six-speaker sound system.

iPhone 17e and iPad Air M4 Announcements

Apple’s busy week also included updates to its mobile device categories. The newly revealed iPhone 17e is positioned as a budget-friendly smartphone, launching with a $599 price tag. It features a faster A19 processor and offers double the storage capacity of its predecessor. The device includes MagSafe technology and is built with a more durable Ceramic Shield 2 display. The iPhone 17e is also available in a brand-new pink color option.

In the tablet segment, the iPad Air has been refreshed with the powerful M4 processor and increased memory capacity. The 11-inch iPad Air M4 starts at $599, while the larger 13-inch version is priced at $799. Finally, catering to both consumers and creative professionals, Apple revamped its external monitor lineup by unveiling the new Studio Display and the high-end Studio Display XDR.
